On this day 79 years ago in 1945 Warrant Officer James Douglas Ronald Pugsley of 524 Squadron, RAF Volunteer Reserve, died during World War Two. Son of Wilfred George and Annie Pugsley, of Burton on Stather, Husband of Beatrice Ada Pugsley.
143 years ago in 1881 Albert Roberts, deckhand on the Stather built fishing ketch Vigilant
(H1286), was washed overboard by a wave and drowned in The Humber near Killingholme.
