Incidents:Sunday September 4 1887 about 10am we sighted a steamer with flag half mast laying under sail about 100 miles from Spurn. We bore down to her and found it to be the John Wells of Goole we took her in tow to Grimsby Roads having no coal on board. 3rd January 1891 North Sea. Name of person punished Frederick Smoulton 3rd hand by P Lee skipper. Threatening to take my life and to cut away gear. Sent forward with hands tied into hold. Frederick Smoulton 3rd hand. Having been discharged from this vessel at sea sent home by cutter it is not my intention to take any further action relative to his conduct, as he expressed regret when being discharged for his previous bad behaviour. Hull 2nd March 1891.
Fate:Lost fire in the North Sea, 9th Oct 1895. Petrol spilled on the engine room floor. Master S H Jewitts certificate suspended for 12 months for prematurely abandoning the vessel.
