Introduction

The CWGC records show two possible entries for Edward Smith of the Royal Scots.

One Edward Roland Smith, with the service number 22563 who died on the 28th of March 1918 aged 21, buried at Warloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery Extension. The other is E Smith, 352863 and died on 20th of September 1917, commemorated at the Tyne Cot Memorial. It is not clear which one was connected with Burton upon Stather, but the first one had family in Lincoln.
