On this day 140 years ago in 1884 the Stather built fishing ketch H1032 sank in the Humber near St. Andrews Dock after a collision with the SS Hero of Hull.

On this day 130 years ago in 1894, the UK saw a Great Storm, causing a number of shipping casualties. Among them were no less than three ships built at Burton Stather in Wray's yard. The brig was wrecked on Ballymacormick Point NI. Two Hull fishing ketches, H1218, and H1286, were both lost in the North Sea with all hands.
