The 8^th of December History Calendar

On this day 138 years ago in 1886, the schooner Ann Mitchell, built by John Wray & Son at Burton Stather was lost in collision with Glasgow steamer Maggie off Abersoch. The ship which traded between England, Ireland, Wales and France, was sailing from Fleetwood to Par with a cargo of Coal.
