Boarding Fish

On this day 106 years ago in 1914 Private of the 1st Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment died at the age of 31. Son of Elizabeth Ann Lockey (formerly Walker), of Sheffield, and the late John Ephraim Walker.

On this day 136 years ago in 1884 there was a fatality on the Stather built fishing ketch H1353. Richard Ganell, third hand, was washed off the deck in a storm.

There were two more deaths in 1886 onboard the Stather built fishing ketch H917. 2nd hand Joseph Williamson and 3rd Hand John William Balls, drowned in the North Sea when the ship's boat capsized while heading for the cutter to board fish.
