A Brig

On this day 155 years ago in 1869, The Stather built brig was de-masted and badly damaged in a storm on voyage from Philadelphia to Plymouth. The Captain and three crew were killed. She was taken in tow by the brig then the brigantine Scottish Maid which took her into Milford Haven.

On this day 146 years ago in 1878, The Stather built schooner was wrecked at Downings Bay in Ireland. She was carrying a cargo of wheat, all the crew were saved.

On this day 140 years ago in 1884, The Stather built smack was lost in collision with the SS Telesilla off the Holderness Coast. All the crew were saved.
