On this day 138 years ago in 1886, the Stather built schooner Young Dick
left Dungerness, Queensland, bound for New Britain with 117 return labourers to be repatriated.
The ship was wrecked on the Great Barrier Reef, days later debris was found, but no survivors.
She was lost with more than 120 lives on board.
