On this day 145 years ago in 1873, Sir Anthony Musgrave and family boarded the barque Burton Stather
at Durban, South Africa, bound for Adelaide, where he took his new post as Governor of South Australia.
The ship was chosen for the voyage for its superior cabin accommodation.
On this day 100 years ago in 1918, Private Dan Murgatroyd of the 25th Coy, Machine Gun Corps, died in hospital after being wounded in November.
