The 3^rd of January History Calendar

On this day 158 years ago in 1866 John Wray & Son launched another ship. The barque Burton Stather was the largest and most high spec ship built by the yard. 155 feet long with nine luxury staterooms, she carried passengers and cargo between London and Natal (Durban) in South Africa, later moving to Eastern Australia.
